5 Sephora 2019 Holiday Bonus Sale Items I Purchased & You Should Too!

I just want to preface this post by saying, don’t buy anything that doesn’t bring you joy or fit into your budget. It’s like Randy would always say in Say Yes to the Dress: “Don’t try on a dress that is out of your budget because you will fall in love with it and you will leave the store empty-handed.” Wise advice, Randy. That’s exactly what I tried to keep in mind while shopping for beauty products because let’s be real, I didn’t really NEED any of the items I listed below. BUT each one sparks joy within me and was within my budget that I set-up before the sale.

& second off, the Sephora Holiday Bonus Sale is ending on November 11th and you already know that this date was scheduled in my planner because I needed to indulge myself in this 10 – 20% off sale that occurs 2-3 times a year. I also love taking this opportunity to restock my tried and true staples while also trying new products because trying something new is always fun!

During the Holiday Bonus Sale, you’re able to use the percentage off your purchase either in-store or online and I did both! For products that were in stock at my local Sephora or had shipping restrictions, I purchased in-store and the products that could only be found online were ordered separately.

Now let’s start this list with an item that is brand new to me because, like I said, it’s always fun to start things off with something new and hopefully (fingers crossed) an exciting purchase!

1) Supergoop! Shimmershade Illuminating Cream Eyeshadow SPF 30 in Daydream: For $24 each

I did a swatch test of the Supergoop! shimmer eyeshadow in Frist Light at my local Sephora, but when I looked it up on their app, I noticed the shade Daydream and knew I needed this in my collection! Annnd if I’m really in love with the product and use it constantly, I can always purchase other shades later on.

It’s a cream eyeshadow that felt very light to the touch when I tried the swatch test and I cannot wait for it to finally arrive in the mail! I also love that the cream eyeshadow has SPF 30 because our delicate eyelids should also be protected from the sun and the SPF will also help prevent the signs of aging. Goodbye, crows feet (hopefully)!

2) Youth to the People Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser: For $36

I purchased this full-sized YTTP cleanser because I fell in love with the sample bottle that I received in a monthly Sephora Play! subscription box. I truly believe that this cleanser is sweeping away the build-up that is smushed down in my pores because my pores are looking so small and AH-mazing!! I’m so firm on this belief because the cleanser has been the only change to my skincare routine recently.

This is a water-based cleanser that feels so light, frothy on the skin and it has a soft scent of leafy greens, which I’m personally obsessed with! I’m also obsessed that this is a clean product that is packaged in glass (so don’t break it lol) so it’s eco-friendlier than some other cleanser packaging from other brands.

3) Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel Mini: 5 Treatments for $17

The Universal Daily Peel from Dr. Dennis Gross is a staple in my skincare routine, but my budget this time around only allowed me to purchase the mini version; for now!

This is an extremely easy to use daily peel because all you need to do is take the first wipe and spread it all over your face until the wipe is completely dry. I personally take the wipe and use it in a circular motion because this first step is supposed to help exfoliate your skin.

Once the wipe is dry, wait two minutes for the product to sink into your skin and for your face to feel a slight tingle. Then after the two minutes are up, use the second wipe all over your face for an anti-aging neutralizer. This daily peel is honestly a great quality product that makes your skincare routine a breeze.

4) Kiehl’s Since 1851 Creme de Corps Nourishing Dry Body Oil: $17.50 for 2.5 oz

I am WAY beyond excited to try this Kiehl’s dry body oil because winter is coming and my skin feels really REALLY dry! I know their body lotion with the same name is their OG product, but I didn’t want to purchase something that would lay over my skin so heavily (I live in North Florida so cold, but not really), but would also be equally as moisturizing.

I also purchased this product because I’m traveling to Chicago next month in December and I needed something moisturizing that would also be travel-friendly. Currently, all the body lotions I own are way over the 3.5 oz limit and I don’t think I can travel to Chicago without something to keep my skin happy.

5) Youth to the People The Youth Minis Kit: $48

I purchased this YTTP minis kit because the Sephora sales representative sold me on it and I completely blame her for this! But, it’s also because their cleanser is making me fall in love with the brand; I seriously want to try more from them! & with this kit, you get to try five of their popular items!!

The products jam-packed into this kit is a 0.5 oz bottle of their Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask, which I’ve been eyeing for the past few months anyway and I’m so glad to finally get my hands on it. The second item is a 1 oz bottle of their Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser, which I’ll gift to a friend that also likes this cleanser because I already have the full-sized bottle.

The kit also comes with a 0.27 oz bottle of their Superberry Hydrate + Glow Oil, which should pair perfectly with the Superberry mask. There is also a 0.5 oz bottle of their Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream in the kit & the last item is a 0.5 oz bottle of Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi that is also coming with me to Chicago because it’s great for dry skin. I have a normal-to-combination skin type and can only visualize myself using this during the cold winter months. But let’s be real, this whole kit is coming with me to Chicago!

BONUS: Giorgio Armani Beauty Acqua Di Gio Pour Hommes: $86 for 3.4 oz bottle

Alec ran out of his Bleu de Chanel recently and wanted to try something different because, while he loved the scent, he felt that the spray nozzle dispensed too much product at once which made the bottle go empty pretty quickly. SO, while Alec was browsing the perfume/cologne section of Sephora he stumbled upon the Acqua Di Gio and at that moment it smelt good with his skins chemistry.

Another cologne that he’s going to get during the Holiday Bonus Sale is the Polo Ralph Lauren Double Black because this is his signature scent that always has room within his cologne collection. He loves this scent so much that he wore it on our first date and holy moly did he smell SO F***ing good!!

What did you pick up during the Sephora Holiday Bonus Sale? Was anything you purchased for loved ones or mostly for you because it’s VERY important to treat yourself every once in a while… or all the time! (depending on the budget. remember what Randy says ;))

With love,

 A Simple Wildflower
